Chiropractic revenue management, for practices on ECLIPSE

Your Data May Be in the Building. Your Money Is Somewhere Else.

ECLIPSE is one of the few chiropractic systems still offered as software you run on your own Windows network as well as in a browser. That is a real choice, and practices that made it usually made it deliberately. It also means the first question a billing partner has to answer here is one that never comes up elsewhere: where does the claim and remittance data actually live, and how does anyone else see it.

You Chose Where Your Software Runs.

ECLIPSE is offered both as a browser product and as Windows software on your own network.

Practices that run it locally usually did that on purpose.

Which Makes One Question Specific to You.

If the data is in the building, who outside the building can see how the revenue cycle is doing?

That is a workflow answer, and it is worth having before it becomes a blind spot.

Case Management Organises. It Does Not Chase.

A personal injury case can legitimately wait months for payment.

A case that is waiting and a case that has been forgotten look exactly alike in a list.

And Chiropractic Has More of Those Than Anyone.

Auto, personal injury and workers' compensation make up a large share of the ledger.

Commercial claims create pressure by ageing visibly. A liability case just sits.

Keep ECLIPSE. Hand Over the Rest.

CareVixis manages denials, appeals, accounts receivable, case follow-up and credentialing around your existing workflow.

Nothing clinical changes and nothing has to move to the cloud.

ECLIPSE holds the case. CareVixis closes it.

The detail

The detail, if you want it

What ECLIPSE publishes about its two deployments, why case management needs someone working it, where these practices leave money sitting, and what to ask any billing company.

Can a practice running ECLIPSE on its own server still outsource billing?

Yes, and the arrangement is the same either way. CareVixis works from the claim and remittance information a practice is able to make available. Whether ECLIPSE runs on a server in the office or in ECLIPSE EHR Cloud changes how that data is shared, not whether the revenue cycle can be managed.

CareVixis has no API integration, native integration, certification or partnership with MPN Software Systems and claims none. This page quotes what ECLIPSE publishes and nothing more.

Credit where it is due

What ECLIPSE Publishes About Itself

['ECLIPSE describing ECLIPSE, quoted from its own site and cited below.', 'The structural fact worth knowing first: it “comes in two flavors”, a subscription cloud product and Windows software for PCs and networks in standalone and client/server versions. Two practices on ECLIPSE can have their data in very different places.']

ECLIPSE capability as ECLIPSE publishes it. CareVixis has not independently tested these features and states them as the vendor's own descriptions.
What it doesHow ECLIPSE describes it
Two deployments“ECLIPSE EHR Cloud® is subscription based … and can be accessed via any browser … on any device”, while “ECLIPSE® is state-of-the-art software for Microsoft Windows PCs and networks, available in both standalone & Client/Server versions”.
Cloud commercial termsThe cloud product is described as having “no upfront costs, no contracts, no cancellation fees”.
Who uses it“Licensed to thousands of Chiropractic, Physical Therapy, and Medical facilities throughout the United States.”
Practice sizesUsers range “from single practitioner to multidisciplinary, multi-site practices with dozens of providers and 250+ users”.
ScopeClients use it for “documentation, scheduling, billing, HIPAA compliant patient communications & every other facet of their business operations”.
Its own history claimsThe company says it “invented case management” and “first integrated SOAP & billing”.
OwnershipECLIPSE is a registered trademark of MPN Software Systems, Inc.

CareVixis has not independently tested any of this and repeats ECLIPSE’s historical claims as ECLIPSE’s own statements rather than as verified fact.

The gap

Case Management Is the Right Idea. Cases Still Have to Be Closed.

ECLIPSE claims to have invented case management, and for chiropractic that concept earns its keep. A personal injury or auto matter is not a series of unrelated visits; it is one case with one set of documentation, one liability question and, often, one payment arriving much later than the care.

A structure for holding a case is not the same as somebody working it. The software can organise a case indefinitely without anyone deciding it has gone quiet, because a case that is waiting and a case that has been forgotten look identical in any list.

Chiropractic carries more of this work than almost any other specialty, and it is the part of the ledger most often left alone. Commercial claims create pressure because they age visibly. A liability case simply sits.

What the software holds

  • The case and its documentation.
  • Every visit attached to it.
  • Charges and balances in one place.
  • A complete clinical record.

What the software cannot do

  • Decide a case has stalled.
  • Chase an adjuster who stopped replying.
  • Notice a statute or filing limit approaching.
  • Judge whether the offer is the contracted amount.
Where the money actually goes missing

Where ECLIPSE Practices Leave Money Sitting

These are the failures that a well-organised record does not prevent, because they are about follow-through rather than structure.

The case nobody closed

A liability case can wait legitimately for months. Distinguishing waiting from abandoned requires someone to decide, on a schedule.

The coverage determination

For insurance work, chiropractic coverage still turns on whether care is active treatment or maintenance. CareVixis sets out the published rule on its chiropractic revenue management page.

Data that never leaves the building

On a local deployment, reporting and oversight are only as good as what somebody exports. That is a workflow question, and it needs an answer before it becomes a blind spot.

Multi-site, multi-discipline enrollment

ECLIPSE describes users with dozens of providers across sites. Every provider needs enrollment with every payer they bill, and the gaps look like coding errors.

Underpayments on routine codes

A claim paid below the contracted rate was still paid, so it appears on no denial report and no worklist.

Long-tail balances

The older a balance gets the less urgent it feels, which is precisely backwards from how collectable it is.

CareVixis publishes no denial rate, recovery rate or resolution time, and does not suggest any practice experiences all of this. What is happening in a particular practice is a question for its own data.

Conceptual workflow

Where This Fits Around What You Already Run

Where a chiropractic claim goes on ECLIPSE, and where CareVixis joins it. The first four steps are the practice’s existing workflow and do not change.

  1. Visit, documented into a caseThe encounter is charted and attached to the case it belongs to.
  2. Charge and claimDocumentation and billing sit in the same product, so the charge is built from the record.
  3. SubmissionThe claim leaves for the clearinghouse and the payer, or in liability work goes to a carrier or attorney on a different timeline.
  4. Payer or carrier responsePaid, adjusted, denied, rejected before adjudication, or simply silence. A rejection never became a claim, so there is nothing to appeal.
  5. VixisIQ™CareVixis revenue intelligence reads the resulting remittance information, where appropriate data can be obtained and normalized, and looks at ageing and payer behaviour across cases rather than claim by claim.
  6. VixisTrace™Where a claim failed, CareVixis claim root cause analysis works eight stages: Detect, Investigate, Identify, Correct, Prevent, Resubmit, Verify, Monitor.
  7. The CareVixis teamPeople decide when a quiet case needs chasing, work the appeal and make the call. Denials are worked the day they arrive; submitting the corrected claim or appeal the same day is the CareVixis standard.
A framework you can use on anyone

What to Ask a Billing Company If You Run ECLIPSE

Put these to CareVixis as well. The first two are specific to how this software is deployed.

  1. How would you work with our deployment?

Ask concretely how claim and remittance data reaches them if ECLIPSE runs on your own network. A vague answer here is a problem later.

  2. Who is responsible for the export?

If reporting depends on somebody producing a file, ask whose job that is and what happens the week they are away.

  3. How do you work personal injury cases?

Ask for the cadence. A case that is waiting and a case that is forgotten look the same unless somebody reviews them on a schedule.

  4. What triggers a review of a quiet case?

Ask for the trigger, not the intention. Time since last contact is a trigger; meaning to look is not.

  5. Who watches statutes and filing limits?

Liability work has deadlines that are not the payer’s timely filing rule. Ask who tracks which.

  6. Who checks the amount, not just the outcome?

A claim paid below the contracted rate looks identical to a claim paid correctly unless somebody compares the two.

  7. Do you handle multi-site enrollment?

Ask how they track which provider is enrolled with which payer at which location.

  8. What reporting will I get?

Ask what it says in a bad month, and whether it arrives without you asking.

  9. Who will we actually deal with?

Ask for the people, not the department. CareVixis is 100% US based and does not outsource.

Using ECLIPSE? Keep It.

If you run ECLIPSE on your own network you almost certainly chose that deliberately, and CareVixis is not going to spend a page arguing with a decision you have already thought about.

Keeping your system is a supported outcome, not a fallback. CareVixis manages the revenue cycle around whatever a practice runs. If a practice later wants to move to the CareVixis platform, that move may be offered at no additional migration charge, and everything the patient sees still carries the practice’s own name and branding.

Keep ECLIPSE, wherever it runs. Let somebody close the cases.

Straight answers

Questions Chiropractors Ask About ECLIPSE and Billing

Does CareVixis work with practices using ECLIPSE?

Yes. CareVixis provides chiropractic revenue cycle management for practices on ECLIPSE, in either deployment. The practice keeps ECLIPSE and CareVixis manages denials, accounts receivable, case balances, payer follow-up and credentialing around it.

We run ECLIPSE on our own server. Does that stop us outsourcing billing?

No. ECLIPSE publishes both a Windows network product and a cloud product. Where the software runs changes how claim and remittance data is shared with a billing partner, not whether the revenue cycle can be managed.

Do I have to move to ECLIPSE EHR Cloud to work with CareVixis?

No. CareVixis does not require any change to how or where a practice runs its software.

Can CareVixis handle personal injury and auto cases?

Yes, and chiropractic carries more of this work than most specialties. These balances age on their own timeline and need reviewing on a schedule rather than when they become urgent, which is usually too late.

What is VixisIQ™?

VixisIQ™ is the CareVixis revenue intelligence technology. It analyses revenue cycle and remittance data to surface payment patterns, adjustments, denial and rejection patterns, payer behaviour and accounts receivable trends. What it can analyse for a particular practice depends on the data that practice is able to make available.

What is VixisTrace™?

VixisTrace™ is the CareVixis claim root cause analysis technology, covering rejected, denied, underpaid and otherwise problematic claims across eight stages. The objective is continuous improvement: identify preventable patterns, address their causes, and reduce unnecessary repeat failures.

Can CareVixis take on old case balances?

Yes. Legacy accounts receivable, including liability cases, is a separate arrangement charged on recovery rather than on the balance handed over. Terms are on the pricing page.

Can CareVixis credential providers across several sites?

Yes, through VixisCred™. Multi-site practices carry the largest enrollment matrices, and gaps in them surface as denials that look like coding errors. See the pricing page.

Keep ECLIPSE. Add Revenue Intelligence.
