Chiropractic revenue management, for practices on ClinicMind or Genesis

Genesis Is Now ClinicMind. And It Would Like to Do Your Billing Too.

That is not a criticism, it is the situation. ClinicMind states that Genesis Chiropractic Software is now ClinicMind, and the platform sells the chiropractic EHR, a full billing service and credentialing. So a practice here is not choosing between software and a billing company. It is choosing how many of those jobs it wants one company to hold. This page puts the same questions to them and to CareVixis, and does not pretend the answer is obvious.

First, the Name.

Genesis Chiropractic Software is now ClinicMind. Same lineage, larger platform.

If you came looking for Genesis, that is what happened to it.

The Platform Also Sells Billing.

And credentialing, and payments, and a staffed front desk.

So this is not software versus a billing company. It is how many jobs you want one company to hold.

One Company Buys You Coordination.

Nobody can point at anybody else, the data never moves, and there is one number to call.

That is a real advantage and it would be dishonest to pretend otherwise.

Two Buys You a Second Opinion.

When the software author also grades its own billing, a denial caused by how the claim was built looks the same as one caused by how it was worked.

Only an outside party has a reason to tell you which it was.

Keep the Software Either Way.

CareVixis manages the revenue cycle around whatever you run, and does not need you to leave it.

Start by looking at your own numbers rather than taking anyone's word for it, including ours.

The software is not the question here. Who is accountable for the money is.

The detail

The detail, if you want it

What ClinicMind publishes about itself, the honest argument for and against buying billing from your software vendor, and the nine questions worth putting to both of us.

Is Genesis Chiropractic Software the same thing as ClinicMind?

Yes. ClinicMind states plainly that Genesis is now ClinicMind, describing it as “the chiropractic EHR you know” rebuilt, and saying the platform carries forward “everything you relied on in Genesis Chiropractic Software”. A practice searching for Genesis is searching for a product that has been renamed and folded into a larger platform.

That matters for billing because the larger platform includes a billing service and a credentialing service. CareVixis has no API integration, native integration, certification or partnership with ClinicMind and claims none. It competes with part of what ClinicMind sells, and this page says so rather than implying otherwise.

Credit where it is due

What ClinicMind Publishes About Itself

['ClinicMind describing ClinicMind, quoted from its own pages and cited below. Where a vendor sells the same service CareVixis sells, the honest thing is to quote them accurately and let a practice judge.', 'ClinicMind’s own diagnosis of the problem is close to the one CareVixis makes. It calls a pile of disconnected systems a “Frankenstack” and argues that it multiplies what it calls revenue leak. CareVixis would not put it in those words, but it would not argue with the point.']

ClinicMind capability as ClinicMind publishes it. CareVixis has not independently tested these features and states them as the vendor's own descriptions.
What it doesHow ClinicMind describes it
The rename“Genesis is now ClinicMind.” The platform carries forward “everything you relied on in Genesis Chiropractic Software”.
What it is“One EHR for patient care, billing, and growth”, bringing records, practice management, billing and patient engagement together in one system.
CertificationClinicMind states that Genesis is ONC-certified.
ClaimsAn integrated clearinghouse lets a practice submit claims directly from the EHR, with electronic remittance and denial tracking.
Billing as a serviceClinicMind sells a full billing service alongside the software, described as claims submission, denial management, payment posting and accounts receivable follow-up in one workflow.
CredentialingCredEdge is ClinicMind’s own credentialing service, where its team manages the credentialing process.
PaymentsClinicMindPay accepts card on file, mobile payments and online balances through an integrated processor.
Multi-locationScheduling, providers, billing and reporting across locations from a single login, with no per-location subscription.
Front deskA staffed service handles scheduling, insurance verification and patient communications on the practice’s behalf.

CareVixis has not independently tested any of these features. ClinicMind publishes figures for payments processed, claims managed, provider counts, charting time, no-show reduction and credentialing speed; none is restated on this page, because CareVixis cannot verify another company’s results and will not repeat them as though it could.

The gap

One Company, or Two? There Is a Real Argument Both Ways

The case for one company is coordination. If the software, the billing and the credentialing are the same vendor, nobody can point at anybody else, the data never has to move, and there is one number to call. ClinicMind makes that case and it is a good one.

The case for two is independence. When the company that writes the software also grades its own billing performance, the practice has no second opinion. A denial caused by how a claim was produced and a denial caused by how it was worked look identical from the outside, and only one party can see both. Separating them is not distrust; it is how a practice keeps an outside view of its own revenue.

There is also a switching consideration. A practice that buys software, billing and credentialing from one vendor has consolidated its leverage as well as its logins. Neither answer is wrong. It is worth deciding deliberately rather than by default.

Where CareVixis and ClinicMind overlap

  • Billing and claim submission.
  • Denial management and appeals.
  • Accounts receivable follow-up.
  • Payer credentialing and enrollment.
  • Revenue reporting.

Where they do not

  • ClinicMind sells the chiropractic EHR. CareVixis does not require you to change it.
  • CareVixis is not the author of the software producing your claims.
  • CareVixis manages a practice that keeps any system, not only this one.
  • CareVixis publishes no outcome figures of its own.
Where the money actually goes missing

The Questions That Decide It

These are the ones a practice should answer before choosing either way. CareVixis has a stake in the outcome and is telling you the questions anyway.

Who grades the billing?

If the software vendor also bills, ask who reviews that performance and against what. An outside party has no reason to soften the answer.

What happens if you leave?

Ask both parties what it takes to move the billing without moving the software, and the reverse. The answer tells you how much leverage you are handing over.

Where does a denial's cause live?

Some denials trace to how the claim was produced and some to how it was worked. Ask who can see both, and whether they will tell you when it was the first.

Is the credentialing the same team?

Both companies sell it. Enrollment effective dates cause denials that read as coding problems, so there is genuine value in one partner seeing both. That argument favours consolidation, and it should be weighed honestly.

The chiropractic coverage question

Whoever bills, whether care is active treatment or maintenance remains a clinical determination that governs whether Medicare pays. CareVixis sets out the published rule on its chiropractic revenue management page.

What does a bad month look like?

Ask both for the reporting they would show you when results are poor. A partner who only reports good months is not reporting.

CareVixis publishes no denial rate, recovery rate or resolution time for chiropractic, and makes no claim to outperform ClinicMind or anyone else. This page does not claim CareVixis is the best chiropractic billing company. It gives you the questions.

Conceptual workflow

Where This Fits Around What You Already Run

Where a chiropractic claim goes on ClinicMind, and where CareVixis would join it. The first four steps are the practice’s existing workflow and do not change.

  1. Visit and documentationThe encounter is charted in the chiropractic EHR that practices knew as Genesis.
  2. Claim creationClean billing data feeds from the clinical record into the claim inside the same platform.
  3. Integrated clearinghouseClaims are submitted from the EHR, with electronic remittance and denial tracking returning to it.
  4. Payer adjudicationThe claim is paid, adjusted, denied, or rejected before adjudication. A rejection never became a claim, so there is nothing to appeal.
  5. VixisIQ™Where a practice engages CareVixis, revenue intelligence reads the resulting remittance information, where appropriate data can be obtained and normalized, and looks at accounts receivable, payer behaviour and denial patterns over time.
  6. VixisTrace™Where a claim has failed, CareVixis claim root cause analysis moves through eight stages: Detect, Investigate, Identify, Correct, Prevent, Resubmit, Verify, Monitor.
  7. The CareVixis teamPeople, not a queue, own the appeal, the payer conversation and the balance nobody has looked at. Denials are worked the day they arrive; submitting the corrected claim or appeal the same day is the CareVixis standard.
A framework you can use on anyone

How to Choose Between a Platform's Billing and an Outside Partner

Ask both companies all nine. CareVixis included, and CareVixis expects to be measured by the same answers.

  1. Who is accountable when a claim fails?

Ask for a name and a process, not a department. The answer should be the same whether the cause was the software or the billing.

  2. Can I keep the software and change the billing?

Ask what that actually costs and how long it takes. A practice should know its exit before it needs one.

  3. What do you do with a denial the second time it appears?

Reworking it is the minimum both will offer. Ask what changes so there is no third time.

  4. Who would notice a claim paid below contract?

A short payment closes the claim everywhere except your bank balance. Ask which party is checking, and how often.

  5. Who decides whether care is active treatment?

The clinician decides and the documentation supports it. Neither a platform nor a billing company should be making that determination for you.

  6. How do you handle personal injury and auto balances?

Ask specifically. Chiropractic carries more of these than most specialties and they age on their own timeline.

  7. Is credentialing the same team as billing?

Both companies sell both. Ask how enrollment problems get routed when they show up disguised as denials.

  8. What reporting will I see, and how often?

Ask what it says when the news is bad, and whether you get it without asking.

  9. Where is your team?

Ask where the people working your claims sit and whether you can speak to them. CareVixis is 100% US based with no outsourcing.

Using ClinicMind? Keep It.

If the platform is working for your clinical workflow, keep it. This page is not an argument against the software, and CareVixis does not need a practice to leave it in order to manage the revenue cycle around it.

Keeping your system is a supported outcome, not a fallback. If a practice later wants to move to the CareVixis platform, that move may be offered at no additional migration charge, and everything the patient sees still carries the practice’s own name and branding.

Keep the EHR you knew as Genesis. Decide the billing separately.

Straight answers

Questions Chiropractors Ask About ClinicMind and Genesis

Is Genesis Chiropractic Software still available?

ClinicMind states that Genesis is now ClinicMind, and that the platform carries forward what practices relied on in Genesis Chiropractic Software. A practice searching for Genesis is searching for a renamed product inside a larger platform.

Does CareVixis work with practices using ClinicMind?

Yes. CareVixis provides chiropractic revenue cycle management for practices on ClinicMind. The practice keeps the software and CareVixis manages denials, accounts receivable, payer follow-up and credentialing around it.

ClinicMind already offers billing. Why would I use CareVixis?

For an independent view. When the company that writes the software also grades its own billing, a practice has no second opinion, and a denial caused by claim production looks identical to one caused by how it was worked. Some practices prefer the coordination of one vendor, and that is a legitimate choice.

Do I have to leave ClinicMind to use CareVixis?

No. The software does not need to be replaced for a practice to use CareVixis revenue cycle services. Scheduling, charting and claim creation stay where they are.

What is VixisIQ™?

VixisIQ™ is the CareVixis revenue intelligence technology. It analyses revenue cycle and remittance data to surface payment patterns, adjustments, denial and rejection patterns, payer behaviour and accounts receivable trends. What it can analyse for a particular practice depends on the data that practice is able to make available.

What is VixisTrace™?

VixisTrace™ is the CareVixis claim root cause analysis technology, covering rejected, denied, underpaid and otherwise problematic claims across eight stages. The objective is continuous improvement: identify preventable patterns, address their causes, and reduce unnecessary repeat failures.

Can CareVixis take over aged chiropractic balances?

Yes, under a separate arrangement charged on recovery rather than on the balance handed over. The terms are set out on the pricing page.

Does CareVixis handle credentialing too?

Yes, through VixisCred™. ClinicMind sells credentialing as well, so this is a genuine overlap and worth putting to both companies. See the pricing page.

Keep ClinicMind. Add Revenue Intelligence.
